Our thoughts turn to Football this weekend with Old Colfeians travelling to Beckenham for their Elizabeth Jacques Cup final. Their opponents? Old Bromleians. It’s sure to be a great match and support is mandatory.

Jazz Brunch 14/5

Horn Park is hosting a special Jazz Brunch this month. Enjoy some food over the sweet sounds of music from our resident band. With your ticket you will have the treat of a full brunch – including a glass of Prosecco – and music from 11-3. All of that for just £18 (£13 for children)! Get in touch if this is music to your ears.

New Exercise Class

Exciting new exercise class for Mums/parents whilst babies and toddlers are entertained in a play group style environment- all in the same room.

Baby steps fitness offers aerobics exercise to music classes for parents to attend with their baby or toddler. Whilst Mum exercises, her precious little one will be kept entertained with some basic toys and games that will be provided.

Classes are run by Jenni, a pre and post natal fitness instructor and local Mum to two young and very energetic boys. Also present is a helper who is there solely to play with and help keep the children entertained, hopefully leaving Mum to enjoy the workout.

 Classes start on Tuesday 16th May and every Tuesday thereafter, details as follows;

– Mum and Toddler (children that are walking/mobile) 10am at Horn Park Sports and Social Club, Eltham Road, Lee, SE12 8UE

– Mum and Baby 11am at Horn Park Sports and Social Club, Eltham Road, Lee, SE12 8UE

Please take a look at Baby Steps Fitness Facebook page or website https://www.babystepsfitness.co.uk for further information.

Jenni looks forward to welcoming you.

Congratulations Old Colfeians

Horn Park will be welcoming Old Colfeians back to the club next year as champions. After winning the play off final on Saturday against Camberley, the team has been promoted back to the London 1 Division, a sure sign of the resurgence of the club and a feat worthy of congratulations.

The match report is available here:  http://www.ocrfc.co.uk/seniors/1stxv/match.php?match=1232

Last Rugby of the Season

The regular season of Rugby at Horn Park draws to an end on Saturday with Old Colfeians’ last home game.

The hope of a home semi-final, a long-time league-best position of 2nd and the most pressing matter of a Beckenham team fighting to hold on to a play-off place await Horn Park’s hosts. Naturally, this will be an afternoon of entertainment with the bar open as always and a pristine pitch playing witness to the match. As an extra sweetener, the 3rd XV will be providing lighter entertainment with their game played at the same time.

Kick off at 15:00, fun all day.

Football Highlights

No Match of the Day to watch after the international break? Don’t worry, never to be outdone by professionals, we can present you with the highlights of last weekend’s match at Horn Park. Goal of the season at 2 minutes?

Girls’ Rugby Taster Session

On Sunday 26th March, Horn Park and Old Colfeians will be hosting a taster session for girls between 13 and 16 to try out Rugby.  The session will be led by World Cup winner Vikki Fleetwood. This will be a great opportunity for new people to see what the world’s fastest growing sport is like and could even be the first step of England’s next success story.

An Audience with Andy Gomarsall

Horn Park will be hosting ‘An Audience with Andy Gomarsall’ on the 10th March. The dinner is being held to raise funds for The Wooden Spoon Charity and the New Zealand rugby tour taking place this summer. As well as the dinner there will be an auction including some very impressive lots and a Q & A session with former England rugby international Andy Gomarsall.

Should you wish to attend please email abateson@ colfes.com stating how many tickets you require. The cost of a ticket is £40 or £280 for a table of 8.

New Year, New Success

The year kicked off with a successful slate of Rugby matches at Horn Park last weekend. Saturday saw wins for Old Colfeians’ 2nd and 3rd XVs and a narrow defeat for the 1s away at Dartford. Sunday continued the trend with the Vets XV reviving positive headlines after their national exposure in conceding (probably) one of the greatest amateur tries ever scored in their last game.
